London Writers’ Salon is my daily writing community, with Writers’ Hours happening at least 4 times every weekday, and many more delightful and supportive resources and connections.
I just came from Mid-week Mingle, where we get to know each other in small breakout rooms. I never cease to be amazed at the incredible depth and diversity in LWS, which started in London with the pandemic and now spans the world and all - I mean all - writing genres. Many are on Substack, though far from all.
I am actively working in the Intention to launch my Substack this summer - at last!
My writing mentor Beth Kempton is here as well, and she’s even created an elegant course in creating and sharing on Substack.

Hi Shyla! Where in California are you? I’d love to hear how you got there from Vermont! I’m in the Hudson Valley, almost 10 years now. Hope all is well.
Always delighted to hear from you, Shyla. I have been following you since 2016 when you appeared at the Democratic convention to introduce Senator Sanders. I totally understand your need to take a break from social media. It is a double edged sword indeed. It connects us but it is also the source of much disconnection. We ALL have stories to tell. I'm looking foward to reading more of yours.
